MPEG-4 to MPEG-2 SD Transcoder with IP output .

MPEG-4 is a very useful encoding sceme for working with digital video. It has a much lower bit rate than MPEG-2 for the same image quality. However most broadcast equipment and set top boxes in the US work with MPEG-2 only. The CL-MPEG422TR is a professional SD TS Transcoder Device for converting MPEG4 streams down to MPEG-2. The unit has 2 ASI Input Interface as well as two mirrored ASI Output Interfaces. The CL-MPEG422TR converts MPEG-4 SD standard encoding format streams to MPEG-2. The Transcoding process is fully digital, and there is no digital to analog or analog to digital conversions involved. There is no loss in image quality. This device can de-multiplex 1 program from an inputs MPTS (Multi Program Transport Stream) and transcode the program from MPEG-4 to MPEG-2. The CL-MPEG422TR also features IP inputs and IP outputs for transport streams carried over the network. All transcoder functions and features can be controlled and monitored via Network Monitoring Software.
